Announcing Arnav.dev!
I am excited to announce the launch of Arnav.dev, a blog documenting my journey towards a profession in quantitative analysis. My name is Arnav and I am a current high school student and aspiring quantitative analyst. For those unfamiliar, quantitative analysis is a field which combines the knowledge of financial markets, data science, and advanced mathematics into one to predict equity prices and market conditions in the future. This is the ideal field in which I would like to work in the future, and the reason is because it combines two of my passions: finance and computer science.
I have always enjoyed learning about topics like the equities market and the global economy. Investing, personal finance, and economics have always been something I am interested in. Along with this passion, I recently discovered a passion for computer science and programming. The idea of being able to write lines in an editor that can do real things and solve real world problems captivates me.
As I began researching career opportunities, I knew I had to do something combining these two passions. After some research, I encountered quantitative finance. The field required programming and mathematics to solve financial problems.
The only problem is…learning it is quite hard. There are numerous concepts in advanced fields that can take years to learn, many requiring higher level education such as attending university. Self-learning some of these concepts will be a tough task requiring lots of time, hard work, and struggle.
That’s where this blog comes in; the purpose of it is to document my struggles and journey in my eventual goal of becoming a quant, and in doing so, help out fellow aspirants with common issues they may encounter.
I will be posting once a month about topics such as data science, programming, and finance as I progress through the field. You can expect to learn something new every time you come to my blog, whether that be through guides about programming tools, my latest projects, or something else.
I am excited to begin my journey towards my dream career, and even more excited that you guys can take it with me.
